Link App Store Connect

Link your App Store Connect account to the campaign group we create for you in our Apple Ads account. Within 24 hours of your submission, we invite your Apple ID with the Link Accounts role. The invitation email comes from Apple Advertising — check your spam folder too. Accept the invitation and turn on Linked, then let us know so we can verify the link in Apple Ads and change your role to Read Only.

Before you begin

For you and the BrightLake operations team, with separate responsibilities.

Who does what

You provide an eligible Apple ID and accept Apple's invitation. BrightLake creates the group, verifies the link and changes your role to Read Only.

What to have ready

  • BrightLake's managed Apple Ads account. This guide does not apply to your own account.
  • An Apple ID with access to the advertised app and a Marketing, App Manager, Admin or Account Holder role.
  • The same Apple ID email for the invitation and sign-in. Apple sends the invitation after submission.

Screenshots are reference examples; captions identify their sources. Your interface may differ. Use the account and agency details for your setup; example images do not confirm your access or data delivery.

  1. Share an eligible Apple ID email

Use an email that can sign in to App Store Connect and see the advertised app, with a Marketing, App Manager, Admin or Account Holder role. Record which email you used for later troubleshooting. No iPhone needed — account.apple.com works in a browser.

  2. We invite that email

Within 24 hours of your submission, our administrator creates your campaign group and invites that email in Apple Ads, with Limited Access to your campaign group and the Link Accounts role. The invitation email comes from Apple Advertising — check your spam folder too. If the email already has Read Only access, we edit the existing user's permissions instead — no new invitation needed.

  3. Accept and activate

Open the invitation email (sender: Apple Advertising), click Accept Invite, and sign in with the SAME email. Enter the Apple ID verification code (from your iPhone or SMS), then the activation code from the invitation email, and click Activate. If you land on the activation page directly, first confirm the signed-in email at the top right matches the invited email; if not, sign out and click Accept Invite again.

  4. Turn on Linked for the campaign group

After activation and the welcome page, open Link App Store Connect Account. Check the account and campaign group, then turn on the Linked switch circled in blue below. Confirm with Link Account when prompted and wait for Saved. If the organization is wrong, switch it before linking.

The Saved message follows linking. This example does not verify your account; ask operations to check if the status changes after refresh. Apple Search Ads in this screenshot is the former name of Apple Ads.Official reference · Opens in a new tab
  5. Tell us when linking is complete

After linking, tell us so we can verify the link in our Apple Ads console and change your Link Accounts role to Read Only, allowing you to view your reports; the linking role cannot view campaigns or reports. The operations guide reports cases where a refresh shows an unlinked status: ask us to verify instead of assuming success or failure. For 'No App Store Connect accounts found', check that the signed-in email matches the invitation and has access to the advertised app with an eligible role in Users and Access.

What to check

  • The intended campaign group shows Saved after you turn on Linked.
  • BrightLake verifies the link in Apple Ads and changes your Link Accounts role to Read Only.

What happens next

Return to the original onboarding tab to check invitation and verification progress. Tell BrightLake after you see Saved; do not assume a refreshed status alone proves the result.
